Routines at P3

Little kiddies at P3 keep on learning day by day.  Routines are a basic for them to remember vocabulary, so here you are a video where you can watch a sample of a warming-up activity.  Click on the picture and have fun with them, at least as much as they do!

Pony Boy by P4

P4 students are here to delight you with their own version of Pony Boy, lullaby written by Bruce Springsteen.  This is one of the songs we sing at the end of every lesson to chill out before saying good bye.  And after a year and a half at Escola ARCE, it seems they have learnt it quite well.  Fancy watching the video and singalong? Let's go!

PS: Focus on the children and forget about the poor singing qualities of the teacher.

Shark in the Park

One of our 6th grade students offered her classmates a great storytelling time.  I have to say storytelling is not an easy activity to carry out.  To act out the story at the same time it is read or explained, so that the listeners enjoy and understand what it is all about, is a difficult task.
I invite you to watch the video clicking on the picture that goes along with this text and enjoy as much as we did in the classroom with this hilarious and funny story called "Shark in the park" by Nick Sharratt.

Classroom routines

Here you are a video where you can see our little students at P4 acting out some classroom routines or actions.  They learn these routines all throughout Kindergarten since P3 up to P5; we usually work them out at the beginning of a lesson, so they break with their previous classroom activity with their tutor and start listening and singing in a joyful way their English lesson.  Fancy having a look at P4 students? Click on the picture to watch the video. Ready-O, let's go!

Hello, good morning!

"Hello, good morning! How are you today?"
Here you are the first words students listen when I enter the classroom. And after some time practicing their answer, they have finally completed the process of learning it. That is to say, now they say "Hello, good morning! I'm fine, thanks!"
Now it's time for you to watch them and let them practise at home ... are you ready? Let's go!

Bonfire Night

"Remember, remember, the 5th of November..."

Tonight is the date of an exciting and controversial data in the History of London and the UK.  Bonfire Night is celebrated to remember the night of the 5th November 1605 when a group of men tried to blow the Parliament up.  Guy Fawkes is the most popular of these group of men who lead the Gunpowder Plot, but I really suggest you to have a look at the links on the pictures to learn more about this bit of history ...

Spooky Cookie Lesson

6th year students took a SPOOKY COOKIE LESSON last Thursday to celebrate Halloween.  They brought biscuits, cookies, chocolate creams, jams, toppings, and anything they liked.  The aim of the lesson was to make their own Halloween desserts with products we all have in the kitchen at home.  We all had fun creating spiders with Oreo biscuits and Mikado chocolate sticks, or decorating Maria biscuits so that they ended up being spiders ... here you are some examples.
